Why I Run...

April 16, 2012...where will you be? I will be lacing up my shoes and making my way through the crowd to the start of the Boston Marathon. Why would I decide to run for 26.2 miles?...because I can. I can wake up every morning knowing that I am healthy and happy. People with cancer do not always have that luxury.

Did you know that 1 in 2 women, and 1 in 3 men will battle cancer at some point in their lives?

Even though this statistic is startling, it is not the main reason I am running. I am running in my father's memory. My father passed away on July 10, 2003 after a year-long battle with bladder cancer. I want to be part of finding the cure, and that is why I am running the marathon for Dana-Farber.

Thank you for supporting me as I try to reach my goal of$10,000
for cancer care and research.
